Why Early Years Play is HardCore Learning!

20th June 2016
9.30-4  Nene Whitewater Centre, Northampton

If you want to know why play on a swing helps spelling - and why rolling balls down ramps and playing spot the difference games helps reading - then this is the course for you! This course looks at Early Years play and how these crucial play experiences are setting down the foundations of literacy for school to build on in later life. Looking at memory development, visual perceptual development and the parts of the brain and brain structures that play helps to link up to create the pathways formal learning will later use, this practical course will involve you playing with a lot of toys while looking at them with whole new eyes, plus taking away a handbook (included in course price) which contains a wealth of ideas for play in your provision.

Suitable for: Early Years and Foundation Stage Professionals, Teachers and SENCos working with Foundation Stage children. Also suitable for SENCos working with Primary Phase children experiencing difficulties with Literacy and children with SEND.
